A Hogwarts Legacy mod for new hairstyles
Vanilla Ponytails is a free-to-use mod for Hogwarts Legacy where players can give their characters a stylish updo to replace the bald hair option found in the game. This game utility from Hoax2 - Kairi features five different ponytails that are based on styles found in NPCs from the game.
Much like the Wednesday Addams Inspired Makeup Variations mod, Vanilla Ponytails allows you to choose which mod files to download. Both of these also focus on granting users the ability to further customize their characters without affecting any other elements of the game.
Choose the best hairdo
As mentioned above, Vanilla Ponytails features five hairdo options: a low ponytail with no bangs, a low ponytail with parted bangs, a low ponytail with full bangs, a high ponytail with no bangs, and a high ponytail with full bangs. These updos will still work even when placing a cap on your character. They’ll also follow the lifelike physics supported by the game so the strands flow smoothly and naturally.
Although these hairstyles follow the movement of real hair, there are some discoloration issues to note. The hair color option you choose for your character while making use of these ponytails won’t match the shade that appears when using other hairstyles. Certain areas of the ponytail will also look a little unnatural due to the uneven application of color, especially around the bangs.
It’s also important to keep in mind that the hairstyle is only meant to replace the bald option in the list of hairstyles found in the customization section. This means that you can only install one hairstyle at a time to take the place of the aforementioned option. In case you want to make use of a different ponytail style, you will need to uninstall your previous file.
Needs work but still a good option
For players looking for additional customization options that will allow them to explore more hairstyles for their characters, Vanilla Ponytails is a pretty decent choice. Not only do you get a handful of style options but the hair’s movement will fit right in without looking too awkward whenever your character moves. However, its realistic likeness doesn’t apply to the hair color due to the awkward coloring.
